1. Prior to drilling, meticulously ensure the integrity and smooth rotation of all components (including the rock drill, its supporting bracket, or rock drill cart). Adequately lubricate all necessary parts, and verify the unobstructed flow of wind and water channels, as well as the firm connection of all joints.
2. Conduct a thorough inspection of the ceiling near the working face. Check for any unsecured or loose rocks on the overhead and secondary gang area adjacent to the working face, and execute necessary safety measures.
3. It is crucial that the working surface, especially the flat shell hole location, is adequately prepared beforehand to prevent any slippage or displacement of the shell hole during drilling.
4. Strictly prohibit drilling dry eyes; the emphasis is on maintaining wet rock drilling practices. Always initiate water flow before starting the wind when operating. Conversely, turn off the wind before ceasing water flow when stopping. Begin the drilling process at a low speed, transitioning to full speed only after achieving a certain depth.
5. Safety First: Drill operators must refrain from wearing gloves during the drilling process.
6. While utilizing the air leg for drilling, maintain an appropriate standing posture and position. Avoid using body pressure, and never stand in front of the rock drill under the working brazing rod to prevent injury from any potential brazing fracture.
7. In the event of abnormal sounds or irregular water emissions during rock drilling, it is imperative to halt operations and conduct a thorough inspection. Identify and rectify the source of the issue before resuming the drilling process.
8. When retracting the rock drill or replacing the brazing rod, operate the rock drill at a slow pace and remain vigilant of the positioning of the rock drill braze.
